Ballet Program: ASDC offers a Ballet program designed to encourage students to enjoy the art and discipline of Ballet. Classes begin at age 3 with pre-ballet and progress to pre-professional. Influences to the curriculum come from the Classical French and Vagonova Russian methods. All ballet students will be schooled in Barre, Center, and Variations.
Tap: ASDC offers tap to students age 4 and up. The tap curriculum is highly structured and graded to develop strong rhythm and precision skills. Tap is offered in combination with Ballet class-one complimenting the other.
Creative Movement: This class is offered to 3 year-old students. It is an introductory class to Ballet and body movement. It is Ballet based, and we teach the proper Ballet positions and concepts on posture. We use a "game concept" incorporating familiar fairy tales that children recognize in order to teach body awareness.
Jazz: ASDC offers jazz after the student has experienced two years of Ballet training (excluding the "Pre-Ballet" 3 year-old year). Beginner jazz classes develop timing, simple jazz steps and techniques, along with fun choreography. Older jazz classes develop strength in turns, jumps, leaps, and also experience the traditional jazz styles.
Lyrical: ASDC offers lyrical class to the more advanced student who has trained at least five years in the Ballet program. Technique and style are presented as well as variations and modern choreography.
Drill Team Prep: ASDC offers classes to prepare the student for a drill team tryout. This class is seasonal and does not perform in the recital.
Private Lessons: ASDC offers private lessons to develop the student's personal skills at an accelerated rate. Lessons are upon instructor's approval and available on a limited basis.

If you are a returning student to ASDC, you do not have to register again – just request your classes and we will confirm with you.
If you are a new student, you must REGISTER as a new student with your Account information (parent) and Student Information (dancer). Then just request your classes and we will confirm.
If you have questions for ASDC, please register in as a new dancer so we will have contact information. We also need to know your dancers age and dance background – please email this information to us and we can help you with class placement.
All Students will be required to pay a $50 non-refundable Registration Fee once classes are confirmed.
Classes start the day after Labor Day in September.
CREATIVE BALLET
AGES 3 - 4
Students are introduced to movement and music in a creative approach to learn the fundamentals of dance. These classes do not focus strictly on classical ballet movements due to the ongoing muscular and bone development of this age group. Classes meet once a week and are available on the following days/times:
PRIMARY LEVEL
AGES 4 - 5
BALLET TAP JAZZ/ACROBATICS CLASSES
Primary classes are designed to build interest in dancing, strengthen muscles, learn basic ballet vocabulary, and develop a sensibility of artistic and performance qualities. Tap is introduced at this level. Classes are available on the following days/times:

AGES 5 - 9
BALLET TAP JAZZ CLASSES
At this level, students begin a more formal approach to classical ballet steps. Students learn from a curriculum which is based on the Classical French as well as Vagonova Russian syllabus and specifically designed for this age group. Tap is established and practiced in a structured and graded system. Jazz is introduced and technique is emphasized. Classes are available on the following days/times:

AGES 10-18
BALLET, POINTE, TAP, JAZZ, LYRICAL
Students are introduced to a more demanding level of study incorporating elements and influences from major training styles in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical. Attendance is VERY IMPORTANT for advancement at this level. It is strong suggested that the dancer take a minimum of two hours of class per week.
